Rocky Mountain National Park Ride Print E-mail

Ride through parts of Arapaho National Forest and beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park.  This ride takes you over Berthoud Pass, through Winter Park ski resort, Lake Granby, and through Rocky Mountain National Park and the town of Estes Park.  Along the way, you'll go over 6 Colorado mountain passes ranging from 9,130 ft. to 11,827 ft., so check the road conditions before you go, and dress appropriately.

 

NOTE: There's an entrance fee to get into Rocky Mountain National Park.

 

Total distance: approximately 190 miles.

 

Details: Go west on I-70 from Denver to Hwy 40.  Take Hwy 40 to Winter Park and continue all the way to Granby.  Approximately 1 mile past Granby, turn right onto Hwy 34.  Follow 34 all the way to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance (don’t forget about the entry fee).  Before you reach the other end of the park, Hwy 34 will turn into Hwy 36.  Follow 36 out the park and into the town of Estes Park.  Follow Hwy 36 through Estes Park and continue towards Lyons.  Approximately 1 mile past Lyons, turn right and continue to follow Hwy 36 to Boulder.  As you reach Boulder turn right onto N. Broadway St. (CO 7).  Follow N. Broadway all the way through town.  N. Broadway will turn into S. Broadway (CO 93).  Follow 93 all the way to Golden.
